BAUS Excellence Gala Awards Nominations
Celebrating BBA students is at the core of the BAUS Excellence Gala–and our partners agree. Thanks to their generous support, we're opening nominations for three BAUS Excellence Awards for the first time. Maybe you've created a high-growth ICT startup, lead a food security project in your community, or started a new business club on campus, you deserve to be recognized.
Planet Hatch Student Entrepreneur of the Year
This award is to honour a University of New Brunswick Undergraduate Business Administration student who has demonstrated innovativeness, originality, and entrepreneurial spirit.
The ideal award recipient is a full-time BBA student that has a demonstrated strong entrepreneurial mindset: creative approaches, willingness to take risks, engages others, faces ambiguity with enthusiasm, leads others to new achievements and can be in any year of study.
CPA Business Leader of the Year
This award is presented to a University of New Brunswick Undergraduate Business Administration student who has demonstrated leadership experience, capabilities in managing a team, and overall well-rounded individual.
The ideal award recipient is a full-time BBA student that has demonstrated a strong leadership mindset: supporting peers, setting achievable goals, considers a holistic approach to problem solving, well-regarded by their peers, and can be in any year of study.
J.D. Irving Community Excellence Award
This award is presented to a University of New Brunswick Undergraduate Business Administration Student who has demonstrated strong volunteer activities in their community.
The ideal recipient is a full-time BBA student that has demonstrated a strong community-based mindset. Their service is to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities but all must be unpaid. This nominee must be making a significant positive impact in their community and can be in any year of study.

Wu Conference Centre
The BAUS Excellence Gala marks yet another year when Business Administration students take over the Chancellor's Room at UNB's state-of-the-art Wu Conference Centre. With a limited amount of seats, this exclusive space allows for intimate conversations and a room-filling keynote presentation. This venue provides a unique experience for all attendees of the BAUS Excellence Gala, whether they have attended a Gala before, or it is their first time.
Robyn Tingley is a high-performance expert and diversity champion specializing in advice for women and Millennials, two groups that together, account for more than half of today’s workforce – and growing.
She has lived and worked around the world as a corporate executive for a Fortune 100 with responsibilities spanning four continents. She was named one of the top Female Trailblazers in North America and Europe by Diversity Magazine. The California Diversity Council named her one of 20 Most Influential and Powerful Women in the state. Oxford University chose her to pilot their inaugural global women’s program and most recently, Robyn was recognized by Women's Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women.
In addition to building a global corporate career, Robyn launched three social enterprises before the age of 40. Her most recent project is GlassSKY that is focused on empowering women, and the next generation of leaders.
